Zibaldone 8

When most people examine how a building meets the sky they typically look at the facade or from outside the building. However sometimes the facade isn't located on the outside looking in but actually on the inside looking out. It could be a small courtyard or in this case an entire baseball field. And yes while you're inside Fenway Park you are focused on the game, but whats interesting is that with most stadiums and here for example you forget that their is a city on the other side of the walls. The sloped stands for seating angle your view upward over any other building that you would normally see. Although the seats were laid out with the intention of the viewer looking down, when a fan or player looks up beyond the stands they actually can't see anything but the stadium or the sky thus turning your attention back to the action on the field.
