How does a building meet the sky? It all depends on the style of architecture
that the building was designed for. If
the building is more Greek then there is usually a reference to the Pantheon to
meet the sky. H.H. Richardson designed
his building to look like the top was being pushed down, therefore the building
bulges out. In some of the newer and
what we consider to be modern have this designed beak. These are all designed to be looked at from a
persons perceptive from the ground. What
if the building was designed to meet the sky from a persons perceptive from
another building? I find that another
important way to design for the building to meet the sky is how the building
turns the corner. Does the building
project outwards or does the roof plane disappear behind the sky?
